OILY, PROBLEMATIC OR HYPERSENSITIVE SKIN:

WHY DO LIGHTS LOOK PURPLE?

When red and blue light are combined and illuminated together, the eye perceives the output colour as purple.

WHY ARE THERE NO LIGHTS VISIBLE WHEN NIR LED MODE IS SELECTED?

Near-infrared (NIR) light is typically not visible to the human eye because it falls just beyond the red end of the visible light spectrum. While the light is being emitted, it is outside the range of wavelengths that the human eye can perceive. Therefore, even though the LED mask is actively emitting NIR light, you won’t be able to see it directly.

DOES IT CONTAIN BLUE UV LIGHT?

No, Bright On LED Face Mask does not use any UV LEDs, making it a safe and non-invasive skincare option.

WHY DOESN’T THE MASK HAVE MORE LIGHT COLOUR OPTIONS?

We have selected the 3 wavelengths that have been studied in independent clinical studies supporting LED phototherapy as the ones consistently delivering significant results.

Blue (e.g., 415nm), red (e.g., 633nm), and near-infrared (e.g., 830nm) (Ablon, 2018; Kim & Calderhead, 2011; Zheng et al., 2020).

WHAT IS THE IRRADIANCE AND FLUENCE OF THE MASK?

Irradiance refers to the amount of light energy emitted by the LEDs on the mask’s surface. The optimal clinical irradiance is considered to be around 40–150 mW/cm2 (Calderhead, 2018; Sorbellini et al., 2018). The Bright On LED face Mask irradiance is 50mW/cm2. This level of irradiance, combined with the ideal wavelengths, ensures the mask’s high effectiveness while maintaining safety standards.
